Newsletter October 2008
The Horseshoe Tournament that we had scheduled on October 18, 2008 is on hold for the moment. We have had only 5 people to pay for their lunches. Beverly Hains, LLAA State President, is supposed to get back with me to let me know how many ladies plan on coming. The problem is that a number of the ladies that attended last year are from the Houma, La. Area and have experienced devastation due to Hurricane Hanna.
Please keep these ladies and their families in your prayers - that the will be getting their lives back to normal as soon as possible.
I will keep you posted as to whether this event is going to be cancelled or not. Hopefully, I will have more information after you receive this newsletter.
The membership brunch was cancelled so I will try to reschedule soon before the end of the year. I will need some volunteers to help me organize this event. Let me know if you can help.
As you may know, Sylvia Mobley wants all of us to start gathering our STUFF for the Rummage Sale in November. Let’s try to collect big ticket items to sell and make this a HUGE SUCCESS. I know that we all need to look in our attics. I bet there is something hiding in there that you really don’t need anymore. Come on--- just take a peak.
Thanks you to all who helped with the Spaghetti Dinner at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church. It was a huge success. I want to especially thank Bobbie Remedies for getting this fund raiser for us. Also, thanks to Joe and Peggy Victoria for a wonderful dinner. You guys are super!
Remember that the State Fair starts on October 23 and runs through November 9. Please be available to help at the gates.
Also, there is a Century -Tel event, Mudbugs Game on October 17 at 5:15pm
If you have not paid your dues for 2008-09, please do so as soon as possible or just give me a call.
