GRAND KNIGHT COMMENTS-Brothers, we have a busy month ahead highlighted by our State Fair fundraiser that runs thru Sun. Nov. 9th.  At press time we still need 14 total time slots filled for Nov. 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9.  Call me, 687-5706, or John Walker, 688-0530 if you can help.  I want to thank every brother knight and lady that worked this year’s fair.  Once again you did a great job.

SOCIAL-Tues., Nov. 4th, 6:30 pm.  This is our Thanksgiving social.  It’s also Election Day.  Cast your vote and come eat a Thanksgiving dinner with your KC family.  We’ll also have a speaker.  Next Bus. Mtg., Tues., Nov. 18th, 7 pm.  Rosary at 6:30 pm.

CENTURYTEL EVENT-Sat. Nov. 15th, Black Rodeo.  Be there at 5:15 pm.  Thanks to all who worked the Oct. 17th event.

PROGRAM DIRECTOR-Grant Frederick, 865-7065
Join us on Thursday, Nov. 13th, 6:30 pm, to review our current budget in light of these uncertain economic times. All Trustees need to attend along with program chairmen and anyone else who would like to attend.  Also, on Wed., Nov. 5th, 6:30 pm, there will be a State Convention planning meeting at Broadmoor council.  Marian council is heading up the Masses for the convention and I have volunteered to chair the committee.  I welcome all the help I can get.

COUNCIL ACTIVITIES-Bobby Remedies, 686-0093
Our concentration at this time is the State Fair fundraiser.  We still need help to fill time slots.  Give us a call, please.  The fair ends Nov. 9th.  The State Pool tournament is on Nov. 8th, in Lafayette.  Deadline for entry form to be received at the State Office is Monday, Nov. 3rd.  $20 fee required.  We’ll be cooking chicken for the St. Johns Fall festival on Sun., Nov. 16th, after the 10 am Mass.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES-Les Brosset, 631-5722
Thanks to all our members and those of the auxiliary who participated in the Heart Association’s Heart Walk on Oct. 11th.  Your support is vital in the fight against our nation’s number one killer-Heart Disease.  I would like to encourage all members to attend our next social on Nov. 4th.  A special program will be conducted by the YWCA and the City Marshall on Family Violence.  Also, a big thanks to Michael White with the La. State Wildlife & Game Agency for his class on gun safety conducted Oct. 14-16th at our hall.  Thirty people attended the class.

YOUTH ACTIVITIES-Taco Mejia, 393-7062
We’ve been very busy with the youth.  Our charbroil for the Sacred Heart Youth group was a success making around $1,200 to be used for future trips by the group.  Our CYLA program is starting up.  Please encourage all Catholic high school senior boys and girls to participate.  Call me for details.  Our council awards $300 to a boy and girl winner.

We’ve got several prospective members that we are scheduling for interviews.  We need new members.  Ask a catholic man to join.

CHURCH ACTIVITIES-Art DeLaune, 469-3098
Come join us Sat. Nov. 1st at 4:30 pm Mass at Sacred Heart and stay after for a Eucharistic Adoration service.  Also, join us every business meeting at 6:30 pm to pray the rosary before our meeting starts at 7 pm.

CORPORATION NEWS-John Walker, Pres., 688-0530
All are invited to our quarterly corporation meeting on Wed., Nov. 26th, 7 pm.  We need 6 of 9 board members for a voting quorum.

I’ll be your new field agent.  I enjoyed meeting many of you at your October business meeting, and I look forward to meeting you all.
